Weed Eating Goats in Downtown L.A.

The L.A. Times reported that goats are being used to trim the weeds on Angels Knoll downtown.

  2. Great!, when I lived in Berkeley, they used to have a herd of goats clearing the Berkely hills on UCB/LBL property where it was too steep and possibly too tinder dry to run a mower. There was a goatherder who lived in a little camper who would follow the goats around and set up little car battery electric fences to keep them contained. The fellow probably had one of the best views from his "house" of anyone in the bay area.

  3. That's awesome. Our yard boarders a weedy hillside owned by the group home for kids next door. They have trouble keeping the hillside in compliance with the fire ordinances for brush clearing each spring. I think I am going to try to hook them up with a goat herder like this one next year.
